Name: Jackie Church (@churchfit10)

1. What sparked your interest in fitness? How did your fitness journey begin? 

I have always had a love for sports, healthy foods, and competing at a very young age.  My parents supported these passions and that grew into playing D1 college volleyball and continuing education in the exercise physiology field.  

2. What makes you excited to teach at Health House? 

What makes me excited to teach at health house is my passion that I get to share with all of the amazing clients.  They are making changes in their lifestyle and choose to come work their hardest with me.  That passion is palpable. 


3. What is your best tip to stay motivated?

My best tip is to find some of your favorite music, start playing it when you get ready at your house then in the car on the way to the gym.  That will get you out of your house and to the gym ready to move regardless of the weather.  

4. What is your favorite 20-minute exercise circuit (for the days you are traveling and can't make it to class?)

I travel A LOT! So eating healthy and finding time for the gym is extremely important.  I always wake up a little earlier at the hotel about 40 min earlier than normal and go down to the hotel gym (or wherever I can).  I typically will do a high intensity circuit in the gym to get my heart rate up.  This consists of a 30 second or min high intensity exercise with about a 10 second rest, very similar to that of a workout at Health House.  I try to stick to the HH schedule, so I focus on the same muscle groups that day so when I return, it was like I didn’t even miss a class!  If I am in a location that gets me outside, I always try and see what is around me so I like to incorporate that into a workout.  

5. Favorite post-workout meal or snack? 

My favorite post-workout snack is a smoothie.  It is like a treat for me.  I typically will try and get my complex carbs in at that time as well.  My body needs HEALTHY fuel to rebuild those muscles and keep me functioning at a high level.  


6. Share a quote that describes you/your fitness style?

No matter where you are in life you have the opportunity to make a difference. 

Classes you teach at Health House: 

I sub when I am in town!  I travel for work so you have to keep an eye on the schedule to find me! Typically a 7am or noon class you can hear my Beyoncè mashup.
